I’m Excited. I’m Scared. I’m In Transition.

Shes as she shared with the therapy team at ASELSI on what God taught her about transitions through gardening. She gave everyone a seedling.

Recently, Shes, PT, has had some time to reflect on her transition from working with ASELSI to working with TCI. This is what she had to share.

Six years ago, the Lord called me to serve in ASELSI’s therapy program. With mixed feelings I took a step of faith, left home, and moved to Chichicastenango.

I was scared of the unknown. I didn’t feel I had the skills for the job. I was comfortable and felt safe at home, but I knew it was time for me to move. I was excited to see what the Lord had for me, the people I would meet, the new adventures awaiting, and the way the He was going to use my life.

Now, the Lord has called me to leave home again.  ASELSI has been home for the past six years. Once again, I have mixed feelings: I’m sad to leave my family, scared of the unknown, but excited for what the Lord has in store for me. Just like God used my parents, family, and school to equip me, He has used ASELSI to equip me for this new calling.

Transitions are not easy, but they are necessary to grow. I had to leave my parent’s home to follow the Lord and grow. I had to leave ASELSI to grow and to allow the therapy program to keep growing.

Leaving home can be scary, but the good thing about a home and a family is I can always go back home to spend time with family, recharge, and share what I have learned.
