Light and Truth
As I continue to introduce you to our rehabilitation promoters in Guatemala, those we have trained in basic physical therapy techniques to meet the needs of people with disability in their area, the words light and truth come to mind when I think of our next local worker. Leti has been part of our program at ASELSI since we started in 2005, so she has some experience.
With that experience also comes a heart for evangelism, which explains the words light and truth when I think of Leti. Along with her husband Carlos, she is an active member in their church and also works with ASELSI’s eye clinic and teams. For her, each interaction with a patient, family member, or anyone else is an opportunity to share the truth of God’s love. Sometimes, this is done through words but always through action.
Leti has traveled with me to house visits where we’ve walked for 45 minutes up and down the mountains and to work in Zona Reina and Canilla. She is willing to go wherever there is a need, even if that need is jumping in to fill in for one of her co-workers. I saw that again today. One of our workers had a minor emergency. Leti, without being asked, jumped in to treat her patient until her co-worker could return.
Leti radiates light and truth, a reflection of Christ. We thank God for her, as we do the rest of our team.
