Do you know the secret?
The Secret
Recently I’ve found myself delving into the book of Colossians, the New Living Translation. I switch translations from time to time, as not to become too familiar with the wording. As I was reading through Coloassians, the following verse jumped out of the page at me: And this is the secret: Christ lives in you” (1:27).
Wow! Do I really believe that? Does all that I do reflect a life filled with Christ?
What about you?
One of my desires this year is to grow in this truth and walk it out in deeper ways. If that’s you, then will you join me? What are the verses from Colossians or other books of the Bible that are challenging you to grow more this year?
Here are a few more that encourage and challenge me.
Let the message about Christ, in all its riches, fill your lives (Colossians 3:16).
I want them to be encouraged and knit together by strong ties of love. I want them to have complete confidence that they understand God’s mysterious plan, which is Christ himself. In him lie hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge (Colossians 2:2).
And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to follow Him. Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness (Colossians 2:6-7).
I could keep going, but I’ll leave you to discover them on your own. May you grow deeper in the understanding of this amazing secret: “Christ in you, the hope of glory.”
What is God speaking to you this year about who He is in you?
(Fridays throughout the year I hope to share with you other insights He is sharing with me as I seek to know Him more.)

January 14, 2018Jennifer, a great blog! Digging deep into The Word is different than just reading it. I like to use different translations too. The scripture that I think of is Psalm 1:3. It is those deep roots that keep us grounded and prevent us from being tossed around as James mentions. We have to keep growing……daily. If we do not, then our relationship with God becomes weakened. It is not enough just to accept Christ as our Savior……..but need to grow, or we will die. Let this be the year for substantial growth!
