Giving Thanks for Shes
I love how God works. Earlier this year Shes started working with our therapy program in Guatemala completing her research. She loved it so much that in May she committed to volunteer with us full time for the rest of this year. We knew I’d be gone for a few weeks, but with my mom’s illness weeks turned into months. However, Shes has stepped up and done a great job in overseeing the program. She emails or text messages to keep me updated and get my input on decisions and plans. She has been fabulous. Those aren”t just my words, but also the clinic and organziation’s directors’.
We are hoping to raise the support to bring her on full time starting in January. I hope you’ll check out this video to hear how she has overcome adversity. God is using her to impact others.
I was so thankful to receive this note from her while I was at home helping care for my mom. “I wanted to share something that happend to me today. The doctor called me in to evaluate a patient for the therapy program. I saw a cute little boy with a small head and a scar. I recognized that scar and after the doctor shared more about him, I knew he had the same disease I do. It was shocking to see what I should be like if it hadn’t been for God’s love and Mercy (If you didn’t watch the video, God provided surgeons to address the problems caused by the disease.)
It reminded me that God has a purpose for everything that happens to us. Sometimes we have to go through pain and it is hard to understand why, but in the middle of the pain He always shows us His love and power. I know that you are going through a lot, but the Lord has a purpose. He will show His power. You are always in my prayers and in my heart. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to serve the Lord.”
This simple note spoke to me on so many levels. Another precious gift for which I am extremely thankful.
