More Work to Do
Last week I introduced you to Sandra, one of our rehabilitation promoters who came to our trainings because her pastor recommended she come. She wasn’t so sure. This week I want to introduce you to Delfina. Her reason for joining the therapy team was quite different. After having worked at ASELSI, she stopped after becoming pregnant. After delivering her son, she thought her working days were limited to cleaning other people’s houses, not the type of job she had imagined for herself.
One night she had a dream in which she envisioned herself working with children. Not long after that, someone from ASELSI mentioned there would be another training for rehabilitation promoters. She quickly signed up.
Initially, Delfina struggled, but after the second week of practical application, she surpassed her classmates. She went from a C to an A. Not only did she have the heart, she had the skills.
As Delfina has worked with us, she has continued to develop and grow. Besides learning therapy, last year she finished her degree as a bilingual secretary. For now, she continues serving with us, but we will see what her future holds. When I think about Delfina, I see a woman of perseverance and faith. We thank God for her.
I hope you’ve enjoyed getting to know our staff. Together, we make a beautiful team and we are all thankful.
