An update on Josúe’s story

This summer I posted a video blog on Josúe (Josúe’s Story).  I called him “our poster child” for the physical therapy program here in Guatemala.  He is definitely living up to that title and so much more.  A few weeks ago, he started walking independently.  It is still a little unsteady, but he has come such a long way since I first saw him five years ago.  I can’t wait to see what he will be doing five years from now.

(Note:  This is raw video, but I kept it this way so you could catch the excitement and joy of  his mother and sister as he walks between the two of them, even if it is unsteady at times.  (And of course Josúe’s excitement too.  I wish you could have heard him squealing in delight as he watched this video.)  Within minutes of taping this video, Josúe’s mother helped calm the fears of a new family bringing their child to therapy for the first time by sharing what had happened with her son since he started coming to therapy.)
